Idea regarding local channel

I just got this idea for Nullsec but could be applied for lo- and hi-sec aswell.
I don't know if it's good or bad. But I thought I'd put it out there.
In 0.0 and lo-sec space, the local channel is your best friend for Intel as it shows you who is with you in the system.

Now let's say that the local channel is beeing populated because you come into the system through a Stargate, which is the usual way of getting into the system and that is where Concord registers you entering the system and puts you visibly into the local channel.

But what would it be, if you enter any system through a WH and Concord would only register you in local channel once you get uncloaked on grid with a Station or Stargate. If you are in a cloaky ship, Concord can't possibly know you are in the system until you decloak at either a Station or Stargate.

Might make for some intersting situations in lo-sec and 0.0 space.
Just imagine beeing able to gank an unsuspecting fleet without anyone knowing you are actually in their system.

What do you think? Feel free to comment.

  1. Would you also apply this to logging in to the game while being at a safe spot?

  2. Hmmm, good question.
The easy answer would be no.
However, and I don't know if this would be possible, but I would make it dependable on your situation prior to loggin off.
If you allready showed up in local prior to loggin, then you should also appear in local when you log back in to the game.
Also I should add to the above post, that once you make yourself known to other capsuleers then you should also appear in local.
