Status update

I haven't been playing EvE much during this festive season. The reason for this beeing is in part due to spending some time with the family. But also due to the fact that I bought my son the Nintendo 3DS. So atm I am playing some SuperMario 3D and to add to that my brother in law got a PS3 for X-mas so I am also playing Assassin's Creed 2.

And no I only steal the 3DS from my son while he is asleep. :-D

On the EvE side I still have 9 days to go for Anchoring 5 and then I am on to Starbase Defense Management.

Petition to CCP

So today I sent a petition to CCP asking why there were so few Hi-sec Incursions in Minmatar Space.
I was surprised when I got a reply within a couple of hours.
Here  is the reply:

Signs of life

Yes yes, I am still here and alive.
Nothing much has happened. We got war-decced by The 0rphanage Alliance but tbh they failed miserably.
They never made the effort to come looking for us. So no kills for us or for them. It is just as Truen1ght said they camp the Trade Hubs to try and get some easy kills. They must be some leet PVPers.

I haven't had too much time to play as I am still looking for a place to live and also all my personal effects have finally arrived. I had forgotten how much stuff was on the way.

Anyway I've been running some Incursions in order to build up my wallet. Went from logi pilot to DPS pilot and have to say that it is easier to get into a fleet beeing a DPS pilot as it seems, that everyone and their dog is a logi pilot.

As I am consistently on the brink of being broke I have decided to not spend any ISK until I have reached for the 1st time ever 500 million ISK.

No there yet, but getting close.

Boring is the least offensive word that comes to mind.
We've had war declared on us by The 0rphanage Alliance, looks like they are over 200 members strong. But so far we haven't seen anything of them.

I do hope that they come and show up on our doorstep, I guess we will find out soon enough (I hope).

More stupidity

Hello there fellow capsuleers,
Yes last night I learned a valuable lesson.

But let me tell the story from the beginning.
It actually starts on Tuesday November 8, where I decide I was going to run some incursion in Minmatar space. I did go and manage to make me some isk (approx 80 million).

The next day on Wednesday the initial plan was to make some more isk. But I check my mail as I log on, and apparently there is a coalition op planned start time in 30 minutes and logis are requested. So I decided I want to be part of the action and head on over to the staging are to help the guys take out a Red POS. I get a bit greedy and decide I want to get on some killmails and load up my drone bay with Warrior II drones.
A few minutes before we head out, RL decides to act up. And I have to leave the fleet and go to the movie to watch Contagion (good movie). So after I get back from the movies I load my basi up with Salvage that I had stored in station and start moving back to Incursion space. Once I arrive I dock up and log off for the day.

Now here comes Thursday night, after having gone out to look at a new car and almost buying it. But deciding first to sleep on it. I log on to EVE and start looking for a fleet in need of a Logi Pilot.
After a couple of minutes I get an invite, then comes the waiting bit until the fleet is all set up.
And off we go to do the first site. We jump into the site, I start targeting my fleet mates. Set orbit at 5000 around Anchor, pop out my drones and start repping the guy who got initial aggro.
While checking my watch list I see another fleet mate is also beeing hit, so beeing the good guy I am I send out my drones to him.
Suddenly I find myself beeing targeted, then my shields go down, I am in structure (WTF) and then I explode and am looking at my POD. :-(

I could not believe my eyes. As I don't know how this could have happened. I got a warning from EVE, but I thought it was just some guy at war and decided to risk it anyways. I just called out on coms xxxx is at war. After warping out in my pod I go check my lossmail to see who had killed me.
It was an eye opener to see that I got popped by CONCORD.
Then my Brain kick in and tells me what an idiot I am. I forgot to put back my Shield maintenance Drones in the Drone Bay and had sent out my Warrior II drones to rep this guy.

The warning I got from EVE was that I was comitting an act of war not repping someone at war.

Lesson learned: before undocking check your fittings/drone bay and cargohold (The hold was still full of salvage)

Deep thoughts

Finally, after a long wait we get another Hi-Sec Minmatar incursion. \o/
To be honest, the excitement of running incursions has worn off it has just become another "grind".
A profitable one at that but nonetheless a "grind".
I still enjoy meeting new people by doing incursions and I do have a good conversations and laughs while doing them. But the PVE part has become boring. Especially beeing a logi pilot.
Basically the main reason I now run incursions is to increase my wallet to fund my PVP addicition.
I still have not had much time to join my mates on their weekly roams as I still need to get settled in my new surroundings (finding a school for the kids, buying a car, finding a house to live in, getting a job for my wife, etc.). And to be honest I don't think I'm quite ready for solo PVP yet.

I do hope that we will make the move out to NPC null sec again. As I want to be able to make full use of all the ships I have bought for PVP.

I'm back!!!!

It's great. Last night I typed a quick o/ in Corp & Alliance chat and was informed by a corpm8 that we had a small coalition fleet going. \o/ I quickly reshipped into my Cane and went out to join them.
In my hurry to get finally some PVP action I didn't realize that we had a new corp member with us.

So Athena Nimitz welcome to MMDS I hope you enjoy flying with us.

Anyhow, I go and join the fleet in Atlar, for quite some time we have nothing going on. Our bait ship is sitting in system and it is beeing ignored. But then finally it's Giribaldi who takes the bait and aggresses.
We warp to him and hooray I get my first killmail in a long time.

While we are killing Giribaldi's cane we have 2 Tengus arriving/uncloaking at the Gate and they try to goad us into shooting at them. We just ignore them, as they don't seemt to want to fire first.

It's not much, but it feels good to be back in the game and getting some kills.

I have moved

Just a small update, I have been absent from EVE for the last couple of weeks, as I have been organizing my move to Mexico. This has now finally been completed. \o/
I still have lots to do, as I still need to find a house & car for the family as well as a school for the kids.
But anyhow, I will have no a bit more time to be playing EVE again.

Actually on Sunday the 23rd October, I managed to get on a roam around Molden Heath.
Sadly we only managed to grab one kill. The rest of the little time I've had I have been either running some lvl 4 missions or just plain running some anomalies and chatting with corp- and alliance mates as well as finding new recruits.

War update and a 5/10 plex

It looks like the war has been extended. But our WT are not actively looking for us.
They have no reason for this, as we are providing easy kills to them (here, here and here).

Seriously guys if you really desperately need to haul something from Rens/Jita during wartime use alts.

anyhow, as I cannot go run the Minnie Incursion due to this war.
I proceed to scan some systems and hope for some juicy sites or an empty wormhole to raid. And I had some success.
I found in one of the neighbouring systems a 5/10 Plex (Angel's Red Light District). Which we proceed to clear with 3 m8s.
We cleared the site with 2 Tempests, 1 Cane and a Scimi for reps.
While in the final room of the site we note that a scanner of Gunpoint Diplomacy (not sure) has entered the system and is apparently looking for us. And surely just as we are completing the site and getting the shiny loot their fleet jumps into the system. And we proceed to warp to gate and leave the site. So once the shiny is sold we will have made each over a 100 mill for less than an hours work.

I am a happy camper.

"Navy Geddon forced off field by scrappy BC's"

The title was suggested by my corpm8 Robinton and I thought it was a good one.
So I stole it. However it only refers to the 2nd part of this report.

This was a good weeekend imo for our Alliance as we got to kill some of our wartargets.
This first part is the battle report come from my Alliance m8 amBOEShed. I was not there to participate in it.

Yesterday (September 2nd 2011)  we claimed our first 3 kills in this war. Not big ones but enough to watch them smack tears in local. It all started when Black Mystic in his vigil was harrassing local. He came across Lady Six. Putting his charms in motion but i (my alt) was not impressed. 2 friends of him came aswell to our island. Commander Sertan was 2 full of smack that we only sat at stations and not burn to them to engage. Well if we did they just warped off, so whats the point. But then he suddenly came towards the station in his Federation navy comet, bumped my zealot. I waited for him to agress so docking wasn't an option for him. He did. While he tried to burn away, i unleashed the zealots power by forcing all energy into the weaponssystems. As distance grew so down went his armor. He came into the optimal range and went boom. Handy that warp was disabled for 24km. Moments later Garhan finally speeded up towards the vigil and destroyed it just before Dreadlock Holiday in his thrasher could save him. He managed to get out. Suddenly local was empty, their smacking was gone and victory ruled in our chat.

Later in the evening a new group of wartargets came towards the island. Ivy league managed to trap 1 dramiel while the 2nd came to the island. Though 2 fast for our locking systems we tried to get him anyways. Then scouts reported a cynabal, nemesis and a helios were incoming. Alot of gate/system moving went on after this cause Bladeburner wanted that cynabal on our killboard. Though their scout in a cloaked loki did his job, spying on our fleet for the cynabal, they logged to fight another day. Sad we were not able to catch that cynabal so Blade had to take granted with the helios he killed just before.

Along came Saturday (September 3rd 2011). I log on to eve to find a Home Defense Fleet up and running and just about to start their roam around our home systems.
I first get into my Broadsword to join them, then the call goes out that an Alliance POS is under attack and we are to reship into BS. Intel reports state that we will be facing 5 x Geddon, 2 x Abaddon, Geddon Navy Issue, Domi, Velator amongst other
So back home and to reship into my Tempest.
At the same time we are getting reports of a fleet inbound to the island.
We prepare to meet them, however they never show themselves in force. Apparently they were sent as a distraction which worked to some degree. As we are beeing delayed for the 12 jump trip to Aldrat.

In the end our FC decide to go for a suicide fleet in battlecruisers.
I reship once again this time into my Cyclone and we make our way to Aldrat with the following ships: Megathron, Drake, Drake, Myrm, Cyclone, Stabber, Claymore, Incursus and 3 x Scimis.
The trip to Aldrat was uneventful.
Our Scout jumps into Aldrat and tells us that the gate is clear and proceeds to warp to the POS. Once at the POS he realizes something is wrong, because it's not under attack anymore. But we have allready jumped into System and get a nice surprise to see our overviews flashing red. The fight is on.

FC calls primaries and we start firing on the Navy Geddon which we almost took down, but apparently we did not have a point on him and he warps of in structure, next we target a Blackbird and take it down. Next we go for a cane and last but not least we get a Scorpion aswell. We could have taken down a couple more ships but they kept either jumping the gate or warping away to return with full shields again. (probably docking and undocking to replenish)
I have to thank our Logis who did an amazing job at keeping us alive. We "only" lost the Megathron, a Myrmidon, 2 Drakes (here & here), my Cyclone and a Claymore. Now please take a look at the Cyclone kill and check out how much damage I took before I went down. The logis managed to stay alive to save our asses for the next fleet.
We got many gf in local after that engagement.

War No. 3

So here we are again. We've been war decced for the third time.
It seems that there is one guy who has been involved in every of the 3 wars, who might have some personal issues with our Alliance.
This atm is only a suspicion nothing confirmed yet.

The good thing is, that the Alliance is coming together now and we are starting to grow some teeth.

However I wonder what this guy was thinking!
Honestly mining during a war..............!!!

Incursion assault sites

Last night I managed successfully to run my first assault Incursion site as a Logi pilot.
Boy that was quite a bit of work. Had to keep an eyes on my Watchlist, on the Broadcasts aswell as the Overview while listening to the FC and watching the logi chat.

I learned alot but tbh I prefer running vanguard sites. As those are easier. You can keep almost all of the fleet on your watchlists and have all the fleet members targeted continuosly. Maybe the FC should have set up the fleet differently in order to facilitate things.

We did a Nation Consolidation Network where you have 2 Acceleration gates. 1 with Cruiser Sansha's and another one with Battleship Sansha's. The FC had 2 squads set up, which in my opinion should have been set up as follows: squad 1 for the Cruiser gates and squad 2 for the BS gates that way us logis could have added almost everyone required to our watchlist. As it was the squads were spread over both parts of the site. Which complicated things a bit. However we managed to complete the site withou loosing any ships.

At the end I still prefer to blitz the vanguard sites, as I can make 10 mill ISK every 10 minutes, whereas the assault site took about an hour to complete with a reward of 16 mill ISK.

Anyhow, I'm having a lot of fun running these incursion sites. Though I yet have to do a HQ site.
But first I want to get more experience as a logi pilot.

Sad Sad Sad

It seems, that I have chosen the best possible moment to start blogging about Eve.
I will not be able to play much Eve in the next few months as I am organizing the move to the American continent. I should have actually seen this coming but never actually thought about this.

Anyway I hope my 2 readers will stick with me until I return fully to Eve. Which should hopefully be by November. I might be able to grab every now and then a couple of moments with Eve but it will nowhere be a regular thing.

Mass Testing on Singularity

Last night I participated in my first Mass Test on Singularity.
I am glad I did it.
Am I going to do it again?
I don't know.

Seriously when FC calls battlecomms, this means for everyone to shut up and listen to him.
And not to start arguing with him about every order he gives or even calling out additional targets.
Or trying out your new voice masking software.
But I guess it doesn't really matter too much, as everything costs only 100 ISK.

I do hope that these Mass Test help CCP, because the level of BS during those tests is truly amazing.
If you've never experienced that, I can only recommend it.

War update

Well it seems, that the WAR-deccing Alliance are just wasting their money.
Apparently they saw some of our mates hauling expensive stuff from Jita back home and decided they could possibly make some isk in killing our haulers and looting the wrecks.

Well so far our activities have not been much disrupted.
We have taken some precautionary measures just in case they decide to make a move.

And another War

 This morning I logged on, to find out that we have once again been War-decced.
We had a 6 day break from the last War, where nothing much happened.
I wonder how this one will go. I do hope this time around that we get some kills.

This is interrupting my incursion running atm, but since there are currently no Minmatar Incursions around. Let's see if this alliance makes it into our home sistem. The last one did not make it.

I wonder who we pissed of, that we get war-decced so sudden?
Since I joined MMDS at the beginning of the year, we've been only war-decced in the last 2 weeks.

If anyone reading this blog (I do hope that I have some readers by now) knows why we are getting decced. Please leave me a comment.

War & Wormholes

As we still had a War going on, not much exciting happened.

I decided to scan our High-Sec sistem and managed to find an empty C1 WH with a couple of Anomalies in it.
The WH guide I use tells me that it has a static C1 + C6 exit.
So while I was scanning the anomalies. I started forming up a small Raiding fleet to clear the WH.
So all in all I get a fleet of 5 and we jump in.
After clearing the first 2 sleeper sites. We have a couple of guys that need to leave. So we call it a night and warp to the WH to discover that it is critically unstable.
You can probably imagine what happened next.
3 of 5 ships get to jump out of the WH and I get stuck with another alliance m8 in this empty C1 WH.
And to make things worse neither of us has a probe launcher fitted and I have all the salvage in my hold.

What to do??

I decide to warp the 2 of us to the assumed C6 WH in the hopes that we might find some friendly inhabitants in that WH who would be willing to help us back out. And this is where lady luck comes to help us out. On arrival at the WH I check it (didn't do it before) and it leads to HI-SEC!!!
It's 30 some jumps from home, but we get to keep our salvage and our ships. So I don't complain. My Mate is also very happy not to have to blow up his ship.

As for the war it looks like it is finally over. We lost a couple of ships but nothing major. Our WT did not make it to our home system. So we could basically operate as normal. The only thing was, that I did not get to run any incursions.

So as of a couple of hours ago, our alliance Broken Chains Alliance is now officially at war.

I hope we get some decent fights and show them that they are messing with the wrong people.

Also I hope that our Alliance (Carebears included) now stand closer together and we give them a good run for their money.

Stupidity

This weekend I was the perfect example for it.
First I lost my Broadsword for not remembering game mechanics.
I jumped into a small gang who aggressed me. I started to burn back to the gate. Wanting to jump out of the fight. But on my way to the gate I foolishly agressed one of them myself. U know how it ended...
So I then went and got me a new Broadsword and called it a night.
Part 2 was tonight I wanted to try and kill something with my new Broadsword.
So I went to one of our neighboring low-sec systems and started doing an anomaly.
And in comes a Cyclone while I was being scrambled by the local rats. So we start the dance.
Apparently he had a off grid booster as well as crystal implants.
So not only did I loose my Broadsword. But my m8 who came to assist me also lost his ship!
Oh well, I learned my lesson. I will return once I have made some ISK again.

My first Post

So this is it, I've finally made the jump and start to document my time in EVE.

This will mostly be a Blog about the Online Game EVE Online with a sprinkling of Real Life mixed in.
I am currently living in the Molden Heath Region and I am a part of Minmatar Death Squad (yes, we are recruiting) which is a part of the Broken Chains Alliance. We have a great bunch of people together who assist and support each other in whatever we do.

A bit about myself, I have been playing EVE for a bit over 1 year and still feel sometimes like a noob in this game. I am not much into doing missions anymore and Mining never appealed to me. However I do participate every now and then in Corp/Alliance Mining Ops.
You will mostly see me either doing some exploration (looking mainly for Radar/Mag sites), and I can definitely be found in the Minmatar Incursions where I either fly my Basi or my Maelstrom. Trying to repel those Sansha forces.

Ofcourse I do try to get some PVP every now and then, but I haven't really been looking for fights. As I need to build up an ISK cushion.One can never have enough ISK.

I won't promise to be posting on a regular basis, but I surely will try to update this blog as much as RL will permit.
